The Social Security Number Trace product is a database that may be used to identify possible names and addresses that the applicant may have used. Also, to obtain the applicant's date of birth and verify the applicant's Social Security Number. The results of this search should not be used for the purpose of making employment decisions, but only to broaden the scope of employment related background checks to include additional jurisdictions and names that may not have been disclosed. Important: The Public Records and commercially available data sources used in this system may have errors. Data is sometimes entered poorly, processed incorrectly and is generally not free from defect. This system should not be relied upon as 100% accurate. Why is this data important? Most criminal records are searched by name. Therefore, it is important to insure that your applicant has provided you with his/ her correct name and the correct spelling of that name. In addition, it is helpful in discovering additional names that the applicant my have had, such as maiden names. The addresses uncovered within the results may help you in your screening of this applicant. Finally, the information is helpful in verifying records that are found under the applicant's name, when the court record has limited information linking it to the applicant.
